Ping G425 Driver Review
Let’s jump right into the important question. Was PING capable of maintaining the G410 Plus’s adaptability, but also increasing forgiveness? Yes. It delivers.
My G410 Plus was beaten by the G425 Max, but the G425 Max proved to be more forgiving. G425 Max’s mishits were consistently less frequent due to a stronger launch and higher spin numbers. On the course, that means there’s less distance between your best swings and all the rest. In comparing the G425 Max to the rest of the market, I don’t think there’s anything that’s quite on its level for forgiveness. The G425 Max driver is the best choice if you are looking for maximum consistency.
It is remarkable that the G425 Max can achieve this increased forgiveness without sacrificing adjustability. The same adapter is used for this driver as the previous, which means you can use any of the eight same shafts. Loft can be adjusted up or down as much as 1.5 degrees. The 26 gram weight in the back can be put in three positions – Fade, Neutral, or Draw. Each position will have an effect on both the ball flight as well as the location of the sweet spots.
PING is a leader in custom fitting and offers an extensive range of stock shafts for the G425 Max driver. There are three proprietary models: ALTA CB 55 Slate, PING Tour, and Alta Distanza. For the player that wants a hot aftermarket shaft in their driver, PING also offers the Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI [review HERE ] and Mitsubishi TENSEI AV Orange in 55 and 65 gram weights.
Ping was my destination in October for me to be fitted with the length shaft and the type that would best suit my needs as a driver. I could not hit the G425 because it was too secret. However, I did have a trial of the G410 heads to see if the LST9 degrees would be best for me. The LST driver model was what I got when I got the G425 Driver. It had the exact shaft so I could evaluate the club.
Comparing the driver to the G410 LST in LSH Auto, Mercedes Benz Stockport and using Trackman 4 with Titleist Pro V1x ball I found that it was a lot more consistent than the G410 LST. Reddish Vale Golf Club was my next stop to try it out on a variety of rounds, to determine if it was worth a place in mine.

Review Ping G425 lst Driver
The G425’s look and feel are obvious. You’re familiar with my reviews of driver models. I like a compact, matte-black, classic head shape and a clean design. Ping has delivered all of this.
The turbulators have become softer and the colour has gone from silver-grey/slate/black. This is very elegant, reminding me of the Batmobile.
It’s kind of like a throwback back to when Ping Anser Driver was still in use.
The feeling of being at home in the game of golf is something to be proud about. Comfort is felt when I look down at a Ping Club, which looks like a classic Ping Golf club.
You can feel it everywhere, including the range sessions on a January night and the opening tee at the US Open. Ping drivers were with me every time I went on tour for professional drives. I was never disappointed by it – the perfect fairway finder.
Ping states that you can hit the ball farther when it touches the short grass. That is why they have invested in technology. However, as someone who believes themselves to be an accurate driver of a ball, it might also allow me to get a few extra yards.
It sounds just like a Ping. It has a loud, high pitched sound that is relatable to all. In my view, this is the same as with previous model driver cars. Just like they say that ‘nothing feels like a Mizuno’, I would also add that nothing sounds like a Ping either.
